Dawne’s passion for animals began early, and after volunteering at a veterinary practice she knew this was the career she wanted to pursue. She went on to qualify as a registered veterinary technologist.  Further inspired by the incredible veterinarians she worked alongside, she returned to university to fulfil her long-held dream of becoming a veterinarian, something that has always felt like home to her.

 Today, Dawne is an integral part of the Prebbleton Veterinary Hospital team. No two days look the same for her. She moves between on-farm calls, clinical appointments, and emergency work, bringing calm, capability, and compassion to every situation. A lifelong dog lover and self-confessed “horse mad” equestrian, she thrives on the variety of equine practice and the moments where her work truly makes a difference, whether that’s offering comfort to a grieving owner or sharing in the excitement of a new foal’s arrival.

Dawne’s areas of expertise include reproduction, internal medicine, and lameness assessment. She enjoys the challenge of complex cases and isn’t afraid to step outside her comfort zone to find answers. Ongoing learning is a big part of her professional life; she keeps her skills sharp through conferences, continuing education, and the lessons learned from the many horses she works with.

What Dawne treasures most about working at Prebbleton Veterinary Hospital is the team culture. There’s no judgement, just genuine support, shared knowledge, and a willingness to roll up sleeves and get the job done together.

Outside of work, Dawne is just as active. She owns her own horse and is a competitive dressage rider. She loves travelling the world, exploring new places, and spending time with her four cats. She recently lost her beloved dog shadow (RIP Turbo), and he remains very much a part of her heart.
