Dr Vicki Mason, BVSc
Vicki has worked in animal health since 1997, bringing decades of experience and a sharp clinical eye to the PVH team. Her days are a mix of consulting, surgery, dentistry, and time at the microscope, she loves the detective work behind complex medical cases.
Her passion for animals started early, growing up with pets of every kind. That curiosity never really left. She’s driven by the satisfaction of solving tricky cases, those “aha” breakthroughs, and the joy of seeing a patient recover. Soft-tissue surgery, dentistry, cytology, and challenging medical puzzles are her favourite parts of the job, and she continues to grow her skills in ultrasound and alternative cancer therapies.
Even outside clinic hours, Vicki is often reading, learning, and digging through studies to find answers, some of her best insights arrive long after the shift has ended.
She loves the independence of PVH, the genuine care that guides every decision, and a team who works hard, supports each other, and embraces everyone’s quirks with humour.
Life at home is busy and full. Vicki shares it with her hubby and 3 teenage children; two large dogs, a formidable cat, and a beautiful Irish sport horse who eats her out of house and home. When she has a moment to herself, she recharges by reading whodunnits, playing golf badly, tending the garden, walking the dogs, hitting the gym, and meeting up with friends.
Vicki hopes every client leaves feeling respected and supported, and every animal leaves feeling better than when they arrived. At the heart of her work is a simple aim: do the very best for each patient, every day.
